Congratulations to the one and only Asako Digi Ono who will become the first women’s player to 100 games for the Club on Saturday.
Digi became a Heavy in April 2007, and played her first game in 2008 after just turning 18. She has many highlights including being capped for Queensland and making the Wallaroos extended squad, but what tops all of that off is winning the women’s premiership with her Heavies sisters (and Dinky the coach) in 2014.
She loves UQ because the Club is her ‘home away from home’ and is always welcomed with open arms. Rugby has always been the centre of Digi’s life and she 'did everything based on what rugby she had'. She has met many lifelong friends through rugby and they are all over the world. She is forever grateful to UQ for adopting her when they did.
Make sure you get down to Field 8 tomorrow and congratulate Digi on this magnificent achievement.
