WOMEN IN RUGBY ROUND!

We are excited to announce that this Saturday's Round 10 clash with Wests will be Women in Rugby Round at St Lucia.

2024 celebrates 30 years of Women's Rugby at the UQ Rugby Club. The Club's first women's team took to the field in 1994 and has since produced 53 Queensland players and 17 Wallaroos.

Most recently we have also produced four (4) WORLD CHAMPIONS (Bella Nasser, Ruby Nicholas, Kaitlin Shave and Sid Taylor) with the Australian Women's 7's team winning the World Sevens Series in Madrid, Spain.

This Saturday our women's program will celebrate this 30 years in a number of ways, including a celebration breakfast with key women from around the Club and also in their lives; ball girls for their game at 10:50am and all women's, Colts 1 and 1st Grade players wearing pink socks.

A special guest at the breakfast will be Kylie McCullagh who was a member of the 1994 team.

Come down and support the women with their game kicking off at 10.50am on the main field.

CHARITY ROUND FAST APPROACHING

On 10th August the Red Heavies will clash with Bond University for CHARITY ROUND.

This year's designated charity will be White Cloud Foundation.

White Cloud Foundation was founded in 2011 to change the way mental health services are delivered in Australia. Their goal is to remove the barriers to accessing treatment and support and make it as easy as possible to get the right help when you need it, from wherever you live.

Their services are geared to helping people in the early stages, when mental health starts to decline, so that we can prevent it from declining further and potentially leading to suicide.

If you or someone you know would be interested in sponsoring a Charity Round Jersey, please contact the club's GM, Jason Greenhalgh (jason@uqrugbyclub.com / 0400 716 166).
